California sea lions are extremely playful and noisy creatures known to live throughout the Western coast of North America. They are often seen relaxing along their favorite spots in California. While the males show territorial behavior during breeding season (May through August), they try to dominate each other. We were lucky enough to witness one such confrontation between two male sea lions. The pictures were taken at a beach on California's Pacific Coast Highway.
