Tail of a Whale
The gray whale, one of the world's most forbidable migrators, travels up to 20,000 kms from Alaska to Mexican coast every year. While the numbers have been falling, 2014-2015 turned out to be a record breaking season along California's Southern coast with over 500 gray whales seen moving southward. Like all whales, they surface to breathe and then dive back to move forward. No better way to say goodbye to 2014 than to get on a boat and look for a migrating gray whale. Meanwhile schools of dolphins can be seen all around. These pictures were taken on Dec 30 and Dec 31st close to LA.
